Bible-Saturated Worship
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).
Our services are designed to renew our joy in Jesus as our greatest treasure through the Bible. We will sing the truths of the Bible, read the Bible together, pray the Bible back to God, and hear the Bible preached. Before the sermon, we spend a 5-minute prayer on behalf of our community. The 45 minute sermon goes verse-by-verse through a book of the Bible to apply God's Word to our lives.
Singing from an Authentic Heart
"For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7).
We value authenticity, not glitz. We invite you to praise the Lord from your heart, as we do from ours. Our songs range from the hymns that stood the test of time, to contemporary songs (Ps. 96:1) from bands like Sovereign Grace, Getty Music, and CityAlight that resonate with the same rich content of the traditional hymns.
Family-Based Children's Ministry
"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." (Deuteronomy 6:6–7)
There is no substitute for the role of the family to lead children to Jesus. Our children's ministry focuses on equipping parents with resources to use at home, strategies to help children participate in the worship service, and a nursery for children ages 0-3 during the sermon. Along with that, we offer a Sunday School for children ages 6–12 and 13–18 during our pre-service Discipleship Classes (9AM, Sept-May).
A Rich Legacy in a Dated Building
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, ... let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." (Hebrews 12:1–2).
Our congregation's size is around 50, with not just a few of us calling our church home for more than 30 years! This has served to establish our church truly as a family. Along with our rich legacy comes a dated building, the challenges of which you may find helpful to know before you arrive. As a split level, seven exterior steps lead up to the auditorium, and the restrooms are on the lower level fifteen steps below. There is plenty of street parking, if the parking lot reaches capacity.
A Welcoming Community
"Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God" (Romans 15:7).
The doors of our church are as wide as the arms of Christ. If he will have you, so will we. We enjoy meeting visitors, no matter your background, clothing, or anything. Come just as you are. Every first Sunday of the month, immediately after service, we invite you to join us at our monthly potluck downstairs. We call our potlucks, pot"trusts" because it's not just "luck" if the food will be good; you can "trust" it will be!
